Here at INdustry MEN we understands that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your personal data is used. We respect and value the privacy of everyone who visits this website, www.industrymen.co.uk (“Our Site”) and will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described here, and in a way that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under the law.

    In this Policy the following terms shall have the following meanings:

Please note that we have no control over how your data is collected, stored, or used by other websites and we advise you to check the privacy policies of any such websites before providing any data to them.

  6. What Data Do You Collect and How?
    Depending upon your use of Our Site, we may collect and hold some or all of the personal and non-personal data set out in the list below, using the methods also set out in the table. Please also see Part 14 for more information about our use of Cookies and similar technologies.

    Data Collected: Identity Information including (but not limited to) name, title, date of birth, gender.
    How We Collect the Data: Collected at time of placing order / account creation, when contacting customer services or making any other general enquiries.


    Data Collected: Contact information including (but not limited to) address, email address, telephone number.
    How We Collect the Data: Collected at time of placing order / account creation, when contacting customer services or making any other general enquiries.

    Data Collected: Business information including (but not limited to) business name, job title, profession.
    How We Collect the Data: Collected at time of placing order / account creation.

    Data Collected: Payment information including (but not limited to) card details, bank account numbers
    How We Collect the Data: Full payment information details used in card processing are usually collected directly by a trusted third party (in this case a payment processing company / the bank).
    In cases where we might manually process an order by telephone the information supplied is input directly into the payment terminal of our payment processing provider if paying by card.
    In cases where we may accept a bank transfer information may be entered on our financial accounting system as it appears on our bank statement.

    Data Collected: Profile information including (but not limited to) preferences, interests, login details, purchase history, reviews written, and browsing behaviour.
    How We Collect the Data: Some information is collected by user manual input / interaction such as a written product review. While other is automatically recorded based on user action (e.g. time and date automatically recorded when a user logs into their account).

    Data Collected: Technical information including (but not limited to) IP address, browser type and version, operating system and scrolling / cursor behavioural patterns.
    How We Collect the Data: Information such as IP address, browser type and operating system is automatically recorded by the platform out site is hosted on. Scrolling and cursor movement (while on our site only) may sometimes be recorded by trusted third party technology and will be anonymised.

    Data Collected: Data from third parties including (but not limited to) technical information, contact information, and profile information.
    How We Collect the Data: In instances where we may allow you to create an account or log in using a third party (such as login with google, facebook or apple accounts) your relevant information as set out with that third party is shared with us.

    Under the Data Protection Legislation, we must always have a lawful basis for using personal data. The following table describes how we may use your personal data, and our lawful bases for doing so: 

    What We Do: To create, register and manage your online account and enable you to take an active role in our services (such as tracking your orders, managing your wish list, re-ordering managing your contact details, etc.).
    What Data We Use: We use your personal data, including your e-mail address and your contact details, to create, register and manage your account, for example, by providing you with a password when you ask us for one and by verifying your identity when necessary, as well as making sure you have access to Our Site / Your Account

    What We Do: To market, assess and improve our products and services (notably developing new products and services, analysing our customer database, performing data analyses, accounting and auditing).

    Our Lawful Basis: This processing is necessary for Our legitimate interests to improve products and services, and their availability.

    What We Do: Communicating with you.
    What Data We Use: We use your personal data, including your identification data and the other data you provide by telephone or email, to communicate with you and respond to your queries.
    Our Lawful Basis: We use this data to fulfil the contractual obligations between us and you. In instances where we do not have a contract with you, this processing is necessary to meet Our legitimate interests, namely better communication and response to queries / or where communication may be deemed pro forma.

    What We Do: Supplying you with information by email that you have opted-in-to (you may opt-out at any time by clicking unsubscribe from the footer of any such email)
    What Data We Use: We use personal data, including contact information and information on purchases, to contact you and send you communications likely to interest you.
    Our Lawful Basis: We obtain your consent before processing any of your data for such purposes. For targeted marketing campaigns via marketing posts, via email, text message, and on third-party applications, on third-party websites and through social media, this processing is necessary for Our legitimate interests  to provide you offers and advertising that meet your expectations.


    With your permission and/or where permitted by law, we may also use your personal data for marketing purposes, which may include contacting you by email AND/OR telephone AND/OR text message AND/OR post with information, news, and offers on our products AND/OR services. You will not be sent any unlawful marketing or spam. We will always work to fully protect your rights and comply with our obligations under the Data Protection Legislation and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, and you will always have the opportunity to opt-out.
    We will always obtain your express opt-in consent before sharing your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes and you will be able to opt-out at any time.
    Third Parties (including using Google or Facebook credentials to register or login on Our site) whose content appears on Our Site may use third-party Cookies, as detailed below in Part 14. Please refer to Part 14 for more information on controlling cookies. Please note that we do not control the activities of such third parties, nor the data that they collect and use themselves, and we advise you to check the privacy policies of any such third parties.

    In some circumstances, where permitted or required by law, we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent. This will only be done within the bounds of the Data Protection Legislation and your legal rights.
    We will only use your personal data for the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected unless we reasonably believe that another purpose is compatible with that or those original purpose(s) and need to use your personal data for that purpose. If we do use your personal data in this way and you wish us to explain how the new purpose is compatible with the original, please contact us using the details in Part 15.​​

    If we need to use your personal data for a purpose that is unrelated to, or incompatible with, the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected, we will inform you and explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

    We use the following automated systems for carrying out certain kinds of decision-making and profiling. If at any point you wish to query any action that we take on the basis of this or wish to request ‘human intervention’ (i.e. have someone review the action themselves, rather than relying only on the automated method), the Data Protection Legislation gives you the right to do so.       1. Excessive or unusually high levels of site traffic from one source may be trigger an automated temporary ban from that internet traffic source; IP Address.

      2. Payment details not matching with billing address, may populate an automatic declined payment or may be automatically flagged up as a risk for later human decision making as to whether to accept such an order.

  8. How Long Will You Keep My Personal Data?
    We will not keep your personal data for any longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was first collected.
    We determine the appropriate retention period for your personal data by considering the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the applicable legal obligations, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means and the period which we consider you should be able to access your records.

    We may share your personal data with other companies in our group for research, development, marketing and analysis. This includes our holding company and its subsidiaries.
    We may sometimes contract with third parties to supply certain products and services; such as logistics, warehousing, courier and delivery companies so that We can fulfil our contractual obligations in delivery of your order.
    If any of your personal data is shared with a third party, as described above, we will take steps to ensure that your personal data is handled safely, securely, and in accordance with your rights, our obligations, and the third party’s obligations under the law, as described above in Part 9.
    If any personal data is transferred outside of the UK, we will take suitable steps in order to ensure that your personal data is treated just as safely and securely as it would be within the UK and under the Data Protection Legislation, as explained above in Part 9.
    If we sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business or assets, your personal data may be transferred to a third party. Any new owner of our business may continue to use your personal data in the same way(s) that we have used it, as specified in this Privacy Policy.
    In some limited circumstances, we may be legally required to share certain personal data, which might include yours, if we are involved in legal proceedings or complying with legal obligations, a court order, or the instructions of a government authority.
